OUR BELIEFS AND CORE VALUES
Palestine Baptist Church subscribes to the doctrinal statement of the Baptist Faith and Message as adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention in the year 2000. We believe that a Gospel Church is a company of baptized believers, voluntarily associated together to maintain the worship of God, and acknowledging no head but Christ, and no religious authority but the Word of God; nevertheless, experience has abundantly taught necessity of all bodies having some system, rules and regulations for conducting business, that the cause represented may be the better promoted.
We Believe the Bible
The Bible is the inspired, inerrant Word of God and has the final authority for determining our faith and practice. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error.
We are the Church
As a Christian we are apart of the "Body of Christ." This movement of Christianity however is not a solo sport. The local church exists so we can gather to worship God, discover his plans for our lives, and live out his priorities.
We Believe in God
There is one and only one living and true God. He is an intelligent, spiritual, and personal Being, the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe. God is infinite in holiness and all other perfections. God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We are to participate in Baptism and the Lords Supper
Simply put, baptism is an outward display of your inward decision to trust Christ with your eternity. The Lord's Supper occurs as a body of believers gather to symbolically remember the atoning work of Christ on the cross through communion.
We are Redeemed by Salvation
Salvation involves the redemption of the whole man, and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer.
We trust the return of Christ
God, in His own time and in His own way, will bring the world to its appropriate end. According to His promise, Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly in glory to the earth; the dead will be raised; and Christ will judge all men in righteousness.
