Jeremiah 17:8 “They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”
Here at Palestine Baptist (PBC), we believe that a mature, responsible adult who is equipped to live life to the fullest is the goal of every loving parent. As parents, we know our job is not just to prepare our children to be successful, but also to prepare them to be grounded for life. We want them to live an authentic, abundant life that is offered through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. How do we equip our children to successfully navigate through life?
Here at PBC, we equip our soon to be graduates to be authentic Christ followers for life through The Wake. The Wake is our ministry tool that is anchored on nine biblical principles, that help us cultivate authentic, passionate, and critically thinking Christ-followers who are able to live life to the fullest. These principles speak truth directly to our mission:
OUR PURPOSE: To develop authentic Christ followers for life
OUR MISSION is to develop our children with an understanding that their identity is GROUNDED in a personal authentic relationship with Jesus Christ, to create an atmosphere that will allow them to be continually maturing/GROWING in Christ, and to equip them with the necessary tools to be faithful to the mission to be GOING for Christ.
Our identity not only affects how we see ourselves but also our entire worldview. An identity in Jesus Christ is necessary to experience abundant life. One's identity is formed in Christ through salvation, authentic worship, and active obedience
Growth is obviously essential to life. We are called to continual growth in Christ, which produces “spiritual fruit.” Marks of maturity included consistent growth, wise choices, and Godly relationships.
As a responsible follower of Jesus Christ, we must demonstrate faithful obedience to His commands. We are called to a sincere relationship, selfless service, and missional living.
